The court has sentenced Nguyễn Phương Uyên and Đinh Nguyên Kha to 6 years and 10 years in prison, respectively.

On or around April and May 2012, Uyên and Kha met Nguyễn Thiện Thành living in Thailand through Facebook. Thành invited them to participate in “Young Patriots,” a reactionary organization against the Socialist Republic of VN, which Nguyễn Thiện Thành is a member.

On or around August 31, 2012, Thành sent Kha three files, each with different content, and told Uyên and Kha to paste them in urban and rural areas. They were also instructed to paste VNCH’s flag along with the leaflets. To show proof of their work, they took several photos and posted them on the “Young Patriots” website for Thanh and other members to see.

Uyên and Kha have committed the crime instructed by Thành living outside Viet Nam through the Internet.

In August 2012, Uyen and Kha independently committed the above crime in the area where they reside.

Kha and Uyen have committed the crime of “propaganda against the State CHXHCH VN”, specified in point c, Clause 1, Article 88 of the Penal Code.

Thành, who lives in Thailand, is the mastermind in this case. Thành is also a fugitive in another case related to “propaganda against the State CHXHCH VN.”
